It lies on the outskirts of the Triglav National Park. Liassic limestones with dark layers of manganese ore occur below the summit, giving the mountain its name (\u010crna prst; in trans. black dirt). Interesting plant species thrive on the top and on the slopes. Zorko Jelin\u010di\u010d’s mountain lodge is also located on summit.\\n\\nThere are many marked trails leading to the top of \u010crna prst – from Bohinjska Bistrica you can climb to the top by two routes, a little further west is the path that starts in Polje, along the road from Bohinjska Bistrica to the lake, and from the south side there are paths from Podbrdo leading from Ba\u0161ke grape, Trtnika and Kal. Slightly more demanding mountaineers can opt for a longer tour, after which you can reach \u010crna prst from Vogel via the entire ridge of the Tolmin-Bohinj Mountains, or for an ascent via Planina za \u010crna gora.\\n\\nA rich and lush flora grows here, which has been attracting botanists for over 200 years. Rare species grow on the naturally preserved bitter grasslands: Eryngium alpinum, Artemisia nitida, Crepis bocconi, Viola pyrenaica and endemic plant species: Aconitum angustifolium, Moehringia villosa. On \u010crna prst, there is a classic site of Pedicularis hacqueti and Pedicularis julica. Among the special features, we can also mention the Geranium argenteum, the trifolium noricum and the endemic Moehringia villosa. At the top are the remains of a labyrinth of military underground tunnels connecting the fortifications on the north and east sides of the Porezen.
